Position Summary

The Lead Forklift Operatoris responsible for assisting the Warehouse Supervisor lead a team of associates to achieve a variety of goals that include productivity, outstanding quality/customer service, maintaining a safe work environment, and employee relations (keeping moral high).

Responsibilities

  • Function as the team lead when supervisor is not present by answering employee questions, troubleshooting problems, and promoting efficient operations.
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and safe working environment.
  • Directs and coordinates the activities of the warehouse operators in loading and unloading trucks and proper handling of various products.
  • Assists warehouse operators when needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
  • Assists in training new and current operators.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years warehouse/inventory experience required.
  • Requires experience managing people/budgets.
  • 2+ years supervising warehouse/inventory staff preferred.
  • Computer and database application skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Ability to operate a lift truck.
  • Forklift certification is required upon commencement of work.
  • Must be able to lift and/or pull 50 lbs. without restriction.
  • Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including weekends and potentially holidays as needed.
