Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc. is seeking a Lead Forklift Operator for the Jackson Center, OH location. This night-shift role (5:00 pm–5:10 am) involves leading forklift operations, coordinating tasks, and mentoring team members across warehouse and production areas.

You will train staff, uphold safety and quality standards, and develop leadership skills for future advancement within the plant. The position offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Three years of forklift operation and warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with a computer system for data entry, transactions, and updating documents.

Job description

Lead Forklift Operator

Join Plastipak as a Lead Forklift Operator.

Location

Jackson Center, OH

Shift

Night Shift. 5:00 pm - 5:10 am. Shifts are 12-hour shifts on a standard rotating 2-week cycle (3 days on the first week, and 4 days on the second week). You have every other weekend off.

Responsibilities

• Working alongside the team, set the example of excellent forklift operations in the transport of raw materials & finished goods between the warehouse & production areas.
• Coordinate Forklift Operator / Material Handler work assignments to uphold safety, quality and productivity standards.
• Provide on-the-job training and mentoring for new hires and experienced team members.
• Develop your leadership skills, positioning you for further promotional opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of forklift operation and warehouse experience in a manufacturing work environment.
• Proficiency using a computer system performing tasks, including data entry, completing transactions, retrieving and updating documents.
• SAP experience is a plus.
• Proficiency using an RF scanner.
• Experience providing on-the-job training & task guidance to others.
• Past experience that demonstrates your leadership potential (this can be through work or other experience).
• Ability to lift & move up to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Compensation

You’ll Earn $21.75+ or more, based on experience. This includes a night shift differential of $1.50 per hour. Double-Time-Pay on Sundays (regular schedules are every other Sunday). That’s 12 hours of extra pay.
