Job summary

D&W Fine Pack is seeking a Material Handler Lead on the 3rd shift to support warehouse and production. You will lead, train, and support a team to move materials safely, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety and quality standards.

The role requires forklift certification, 5+ years in logistics, and 2+ years of leadership experience, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in shipping/receiving or logistics; manufacturing experience preferred.
• 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift certification required.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and WMS systems.
• Able to follow written and spoken instructions.
• Strong attention to detail with safety and teamwork.
• Willingness to work overtime and cross-train in other areas.

Responsibilities

• Move materials through the plant using manual or powered equipment.
• Load/unload trucks, pallets, and production materials safely.
• Verify inbound/outbound shipments (BOL, packing lists).
• Read work orders to determine material and equipment needs; build pallets per MO.
• Label materials accurately and secure loads for transport.
• Maintain accurate production and movement records.
• Inspect materials and loads to ensure accuracy and GMP/SQF compliance.
• Train and mentor new employees; assist with scheduling breaks and lunches.
• Collaborate with leadership to maintain workflow and productivity.

Job description

We are seeking a Material Handler Lead for 3rd shift to support warehouse and production operations. This role is responsible for safely moving materials throughout the facility while leading, training, and supporting team members to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Pay:

Up to $20.00/hour (based on experience)

Night Shift:

3rd Shift (11:30 PM – 8:00 AM, Sunday–Thursday) with occasional overtime

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all plant safety procedures and guidelines
• Utilize required PPE and support a safe work environment
• Understand and follow Lockout/Tagout procedures
• Report safety concerns, incidents, or injuries immediately
• Respond appropriately to emergencies (equipment failure, power outages, etc.)

Material Handling & Operations

• Move materials throughout the plant using manual or powered equipment
• Load and unload trucks, pallets, and production materials safely
• Verify inbound and outbound shipments for accuracy (BOL, packing lists, etc.)
• Read work orders and determine material and equipment needs
• Build pallets according to manufacturing orders (MO)
• Label and identify materials accurately
• Secure loads using stretch wrap and prepare for transport
• Maintain accurate production and movement records

Quality & Accuracy

• Inspect materials and product loads to ensure accuracy and quality
• Follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety standards (SQF)
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials across departments

Leadership & Team Support

• Train, mentor, and support new employees
• Assist with scheduling breaks and lunches
• Provide direction and support to team members as needed
• Collaborate with leadership to maintain workflow and productivity

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations; manufacturing experience preferred
• 2+ years of supervisor or lead experience required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Forklift certification required
• Basic computer skills, including Excel, Word, and WMS systems
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and teamwork
• Willingness to work overtime and cross-train in other areas
