Job summary

Pinkerton is seeking a Lead Forensic Examiner to lead complex forensic examinations across global finance operations, supporting physical security and risk mitigation. You will partner with Global Finance teams to strengthen budget oversight, vendor management, and fiscal controls while handling sensitive investigations with discretion.

The role requires a strong background in forensics, data analytics, and experience in multinational environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, accounting, information systems, computer science, cybersecurity, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience with at least five years leading forensic examinations or investigations.
• Experience supporting global or multi-jurisdiction investigations.
• Proficiency in eDiscovery, digital forensics, data analytics, case management, or enterprise financial reporting tools.
• Background building forensic readiness programs, investigative playbooks, financial controls, or process improvements.
• Able to analyze data from multiple sources and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Experience partnering with finance, audit, compliance, legal, procurement, or risk teams on controls, budgeting, or financial operations.

The Lead Forensic Examiner, assigned to a specific client, will lead forensic examinations into suspected fraud, financial misconduct, and policy violations while managing global financial operations supporting Physical Security. The Examiner will partner closely with Global Finance teams and business stakeholders to strengthen budget oversight, vendor management, and fiscal controls across multiple regions. Through meticulous evidence handling, clear investigative reporting, and sound judgment, this role will safeguard organizational integrity while enhancing global financial visibility and risk mitigation practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead forensic examinations involving suspected fraud, financial misconduct, policy violations, misuse of systems, and other sensitive matters with potential business or regulatory impact.
• Collect, preserve, analyze, and document digital and financial evidence in a manner consistent with legal, regulatory, and internal standards.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on forensic readiness, evidence handling, chain of custody, documentation security, and investigative best practices.
• Assess indicators of control weakness, process breakdown, or irregular activity, and translate investigative findings into practical risk mitigation recommendations and stronger fiscal controls.
• Prepare clear, defensible investigative reports, case summaries, financial analyses, and executive-ready briefings for business leaders and key partners.
• Partner with Global Finance teams, including Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, Tax, SOX, and AP, and related stakeholders, to support investigations tied to financial processes, controls, reporting, and operational risk.
• Manage global financial operations that support Physical Security, including annual and quarterly forecasting, budget submissions, monthly spend reviews, and monitoring of OPEX performance against plan.
• Support monthly accruals, amortization activities, burn-rate reporting, and other financial close support processes in partnership with finance stakeholders.
• Oversee the global team's purchase orders, supplier setup, internal coding, invoice processing, and review activities to ensure accuracy, consistency, timely payment, and strong budget alignment.
• Monitor vendor portfolios and contract lifecycles, ensuring legal and financial documentation remains current and renewals for security services, contingent staff, and SaaS products are handled on time.
• Investigate transaction discrepancies, review invoice coding, validate delivery of contracted assets and services, and identify opportunities for credits, refunds, cost control, and operational savings.
• Recommend improvements to monitoring, reporting, case management, budget visibility, and escalation practices that enhance global financial controls support.
• Build trusted relationships across regions and functions while handling highly sensitive matters with discretion, neutrality, and sound judgment.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external forensic accounting firms, law enforcement agencies, and industry peer groups to support benchmarking and specialized investigative needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, accounting, information systems, computer science, cybersecurity, finance, or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience with at least five years of leading complex forensic examinations, investigations, or financial misconduct reviews in a corporate, consulting, government, or law enforcement environment.

• Familiarity with financial systems, enterprise controls environments, or governance frameworks that support close, reporting, compliance, and forecasting processes.
• Background supporting global or multi-jurisdiction investigations.
• Proficiency in eDiscovery, digital forensics, data analytics, case management, or enterprise financial reporting tools.
• Background in building forensic readiness programs, investigation playbooks, financial controls, or process improvement initiatives.
• Able to analyze data from multiple sources, identify anomalies or trends, and convert findings into clear business recommendations and control improvements.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with finance, audit, compliance, legal, procurement, or risk teams on matters involving controls, reporting, fraud risk, budgeting, or financial operations.
• Knowledge of forensic methodologies, evidence preservation, documentation standards, and investigative interviewing or case development practices.
• Able to manage budgets, financial reporting, contract and vendor oversight, or related operational finance responsibilities in a complex environment.
• Attentive to detail and accuracy.
• Able to communicate complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leaders.
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities and deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
