Job summary

Kforce Inc. in Beaverton, Oregon is seeking a Lead Materials Designer to drive material concepts for footwear, collaborating with design partners and cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes innovation in materials and process development to elevate product stories.

You will work with the Design Director to create concepts, elevate new technologies, and push the boundaries of material make for Kids + Core footwear while contributing to seasonal narratives for iconic products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Art or related field; 2 years of additional experience crafting innovative products in lieu of a degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
• 5+ years of experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other products
• Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, trend related to elevating the consumer experience
• Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives
• Experience in technical footwear or apparel design
• Experience building 3D samples and crafting mockup samples by hand

• Lead concept and development of material designs for Kids + Core Footwear Design
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, material development, product management and merchandising teams
• Push boundaries with new materials and methods to bring future vision to life
