Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking a Head Coach - Football for Jefferson Parish Schools TH Harris Middle in Metairie, LA. The role entails developing and leading the football program, ensuring compliance with district and state rules, and coordinating after-school and weekend activities to prepare the team for competition.

The coach will oversee staff, manage equipment and records, schedule games, and communicate with families and the community.

Qualifications

• Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate or current LHSAA requirements.
• CDL Class B with P and S endorsements, free of air brake restrictions.
• Meet all requirements of the Louisiana Department of Education school bus driver component.
• Employment with the Jefferson Parish Public School System as a teacher and/or administrator.
• Must meet the requirements in Article 3.3 (Faculty Coaches) of the LHSAA handbook.
• Certified through USA footballs Heads UP program.
• Expertise in conditioning of athletes sport specific.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize and implement the entire football program and provide leadership to football personnel and student athletes.
• Adhere to LHSAA, JPPSS and LHSAA rules and regulations.
• Work after school and sometimes weekends/holidays to prepare the team.
• Provide supervision and evaluate coaches.
• Schedule games and related activities for football.
• Maintain records and equipment and ensure player eligibility and insurance.
• Cooperate with athletic director and administrator in charge of athletics.
• Maintain team statistics and participate in professional development including 36 CLUs per year.
• Ensure transportation and lettering criteria are communicated to participants and parents.
