Job summary

Qualifications

1. Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
2. Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
3. The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and stay updated on new theories.
4. The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through actions and instruction.

Responsibilities

1. Advises, coordinates and supports a staff of assistant coaches.
2. Implements athletic policies approved by the school board and education department.
3. Schedules, supervises and participates in practice, games and travel with the team.
4. Maintains discipline and promotes morale, safety and sportsmanship.
5. Oversees budgeting, equipment, and facility use for the program.
6. Mentors athletes regarding academics, conduct and citizenship.
