Job summary

Maverik Inc. is seeking a Lead Food Service Team Member for a full-time role in our Portales, NM stores. You’ll lead by example, support your team, and help deliver fresh food and exceptional customer service while keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and ready to serve.

Starting pay is $15.52–$17.52 per hour with opportunities for growth and advancement. You’ll champion Maverik’s GET approach, lead onboarding and training, and provide friendly, memorable service to every guest.

Qualifications

• 18+ required to apply
• Fast-paced, busy environment experience preferred
• Food safety certification required by state/local jurisdiction

Responsibilities

• Model and reinforce GET (Greet, Engage, and Thank) customer service expectations and lead by example
• Lead orientation and training for Team Members and ensure safe food preparation
• Provide friendly, helpful customer service and create a positive guest experience
• Prepare and display Maverik Bonfire food items following recipes and maintain appealing displays

Physical Requirements

• This position involves frequent standing, walking, handling, and horizontal reaching. It also requires reaching above shoulder level and below the waist, as well as activities such as bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, and pushing. The role may involve lifting, carrying, or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work safely with equipment that generates and maintains high temperatures, while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
