Job summary

Ada County seeks a Kitchen Supervisor to oversee the inmate kitchen, coordinating daily meal prep for inmates and staff in a secure facility. You will lead a small team, ensure safety, sanitation, and compliance with health regulations while managing inventory and training inmates.

The role requires strong leadership and communication skills, with shifts four 10-hour days per week and flexibility for coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with an accredited high school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication, conflict-resolution and initiative are required.
• Ability to supervise, train, and lead staff in a kitchen setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the inmate kitchen work crew, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
• Oversee bulk meal preparations for inmates and jail staff, maintaining high standards.
• Keep a detailed inventory of food stock and supplies, ensuring availability when needed.
• Train inmates in food service and sanitation practices.
• Ensure sanitation methods meet the standards set by health regulations.
• Resolve conflicts and take disciplinary actions when required.
