About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor performs kitchen duties and supervises inmate labor in preparing and serving meals in accordance with departmental standards and recipes. Supervisory duties involve overseeing inmate labor.

Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities

• Prepare and instruct inmate labor/team members in food preparation according to standards and instructions.
• Handle production and sanitation paperwork to ensure compliance with facility procedures.
• Ensure cleaning and maintenance of food service equipment and work areas, following safety and sanitation practices.
• Follow institution requirements in meal preparation, oversight, and serving.
• Adhere to housekeeping and safety practices as instructed.
• Store food and supplies properly.
• Prepare food for large groups in high-volume facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years old.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in food service; institutional or restaurant experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
