Job summary

NSF is seeking an experienced Food Safety Packaging Auditor to conduct GFSI‑recognized audits and collaborate with manufacturers to strengthen compliance and consumer trust. The role demands technical expertise, clear audit communication, and adherence to high safety standards.

You will support continuous improvement across diverse client operations, travel for audits, and upskill toward FSSC 22000 Food Packaging while ensuring robust documentation and credential maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Food Packaging Manufacturing in a Quality role.
• Lead Auditor Course completed.
• HACCP Certification completed.
• SQF Category 27 or BRC Packaging or FSSC 22000 Food Packaging knowledge.
• Bachelor’s degree in Bioscience with transcripts showing bioscience coursework.
• Documented audit log with 80+ hours of HACCP-based food safety audits.
• Ability to work with multiple Certification Bodies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct GFSI certification food safety audits in accordance with applicable standards and accreditation requirements.
• Analyze, document, summarize, and evaluate audit findings clearly and accurately.
• Communicate audit results, nonconformities, and conclusions to client site management and designated representatives.
• Develop and execute audit work plans to ensure timely completion of audits.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external clients.
• Complete all required auditor training, documentation, and administrative tasks.
• Maintain required food safety competencies, credentials, and qualifications.
• Qualify for and conduct additional audit types as business needs evolve.
• Perform other duties to support audit program excellence.
