PL Developments LLC, located in Piedmont, SC, seeks a Lead Floor Material Handler to coordinate daily material flow and provide hands-on production support. You will ensure raw materials and components are available, finished goods are staged and shipped, and inventory is accurately logged in Oracle/WMS.

The role requires leadership, forklift certification, and strong organizational and communication skills to guide a team and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of warehouse or material handling experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead daily work activities and train peers.
• Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain certification).
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Proficient with inventory systems (Oracle/WMS) and handheld devices.
• Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, management and all levels of the company.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct daily work activities of Floor Material Handlers, providing hands‑on guidance, workflow coordination, and on‑the‑job training to ensure safe and efficient material flow.
• Operate a variety of material handling equipment, including sit‑down and stand‑up forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial equipment, in compliance with company safety standards and OSHA requirements.
• Receive, unload, stage, and load raw materials, components, supplies, and finished goods for production and shipment, including inbound and outbound trailers from distribution centers and third‑party carriers (FedEx, UPS, etc.).
• Pull, stage, and deliver materials to production lines in alignment with production schedules and operational priorities.
• Verify outbound shipments for accuracy and completeness, including LPNs, quantities, and required documentation.
• Stock, organize, and maintain raw materials, chemicals, and supplies to support inventory accuracy and traceability.
• Perform weekly equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns as needed.
• Prepare, process, and complete inventory transactions in Oracle/WMS systems, including receiving, transfers, adjustments, and internal movements, while maintaining accurate paperwork and records.
• Support inventory accuracy through spot checks, location audits, and coordination with Operations Support leadership.
• Monitor material flow and floor activity, identify bottlenecks or issues, and elevate material, inventory, or operational concerns to the Operations Support Manager.
• Serve as a point of contact between production, warehouse, and operations teams regarding material availability, movement, and priorities.
• Reinforce adherence to safety requirements, SOPs, housekeeping standards, and regulatory compliance expectations.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and material storage areas and promptly report safety hazards, product damage, equipment issues, or process gaps.
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to material handling efficiency, inventory accuracy, and floor operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs

SUMMARY:

The Lead Floor Material Handler is a hands-on lead role responsible for coordinating daily material handling activities while actively performing production support functions. This role ensures raw materials and components are available for production, finished goods are accurately staged and shipped, and inventory transactions are completed correctly in Oracle/WMS systems. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds (occasionally)
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot and cold environments
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Work safely and adhere to all OSHA regulations as well as company safety policies and procedures
