Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee complex flood-control construction projects, providing technical management for multi‑million‑dollar programs and ensuring work adheres to approved plans and specs.

You will work with the Contractor, Engineer‑of‑Record, and project partners to deliver safe, reliable flood protection and implement in‑the‑field modifications with proper approvals so the final facility functions as designed to protect people and property during

Qualifications

• Four years of experience managing large capital-improvement projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, urban planning, public administration, business administration, or related field.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license by time of hire.
• Experience with projects budgeted over $1 million.
• Public works project experience.
• Certification such as NICET, CCM, PMP, or OSHA 10/30.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, manage, and inspect flood control projects to ensure plans, budget, and specs are met.
• Inspect contracts; resolve discrepancies between field conditions and design plans.
• Evaluate need for design changes and review plans for standards and regs.
• Prepare monthly pay estimates for construction contracts.
• Attend pre-construction and progress meetings with clients and contractors.
• Respond to questions from citizens and agencies about projects and docs.
• Monitor stormwater requirements to meet permits and regulations.
