Job summary

Lunar Outpost in Golden, CO, is seeking an experienced Lead Flight Engineer to spearhead planning and execution of Artemis-era LTV missions in support of NASA’s Artemis program.

Lead responsibilities include developing procedures, training as an LTV flight controller, and coordinating with NASA FOD and internal teams to ensure mission success. Onsite schedule applies with occasional remote work and after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of spaceflight mission operations experience.
• Ability to lead in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment with strong communication and leadership.
• Self-starter who works well alone or as part of a team.
• Occasional nights, weekends, and holidays required during Artemis ops.
• U.S. Person status required.

Responsibilities

• Develop LTV ground and flight procedures and operational documentation.
• Develop Flight Plans according to mission requirements.
• Develop Flight Rules to ensure crew and vehicle safety.
• Coordinate Artemis mission planning with NASA FOD and Lunar Outpost teams.
• Train and certify as an LTV flight controller; provide real-time operations support.
• Make decisions to manage resources during Artemis missions with NASA FOD.
• Develop contingency responses for crew/vehicle systems.
• Lead plan-train-fly process development for Artemis support.
• Support MCC console configuration and tool development with Mission Systems.
