Job summary

Archer is seeking a Lead Special Programs Engineer – Flight Controls & Software in Silicon Valley, CA. You will own flight control law design, flight dynamics, and embedded autopilot software for prototype vehicles, driving rapid-prototyping efforts from concept to hardware-in-the-loop tests.

You will collaborate across Archer's Special Programs, setting technical approaches, and presenting analysis packages for design maturity reviews and opportunity decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Controls, Electrical, or Computer Engineering
• 8–12 years of engineering experience in rapid-prototyping/defense environments
• Experience in flight control law development, flight dynamics, or stability and control analysis

Responsibilities

• Lead flight control law design and analysis for prototype vehicles.
• Lead development of embedded flight control and autopilot software from architecture to flight tests.
• Support rapid prototyping from concept modeling to hardware-in-the-loop testing and flight test support.
• Own the flight controls and software discipline across the program with defined approaches and methods.
• Assess technical feasibility of new opportunities within focus areas and determine required approaches.
• Serve as a cross-functional contributor across Special Programs when needed.
• Collaborate with program leads and other engineers to align technical approaches with timelines.
• Produce technical docs, trade studies, and analysis packages for design maturity reviews.
• Represent Special Programs focus area in reviews and government discussions.
