Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic A to lead fleet maintenance and deliver high-quality repairs at the Memphis branch. You will mentor junior mechanics and uphold branch, region, and national SOPs while ensuring equipment is kept on the rental ready line.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics across engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, and the ability to handle complex repairs with safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading detailed technical schematics and owner manuals.
• Ability to operate/inspect fleet equipment (boom lifts, forklifts, generators, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work with all levels of the company.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all fleet.
• Operate and test equipment to meet quality and efficiency standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs independently.
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire/battery/hose work and part replacements.
• Diagnose engine, electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems using diagnostic tools.
