Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is seeking a 2nd Shift Lead Fitter/Welder for our plant in Fort Worth, TX. As a Lead Fitter/Welder, you will be responsible for ensuring your team’s daily work assignments are completed safely, on-time, and accurately. You will need to proactively identify and solve problems, act with integrity and safety, and lead by example.

Meyer Utility Structures specializes in engineering design and fabrication of concrete, lattice, and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications, and is committed to providing reliable structures, superior service, and product solutions.

What You’ll Do

1. Assist the bay supervisor with communicating daily expectations regarding quality, production, safety, and on-time deliveries.
2. Ensure all safety procedures are followed, participate in safety committees, and conduct safety audits.
3. Manage and forecast daily production operations for heavy industrial products.
4. Set and manage production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials, staffing, and demand.
5. Address obstacles to meet safety, production, efficiency, and quality goals.
6. Conduct fit-up checks on products as required.
7. Ensure all production paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
8. Verify work products are properly completed and inspected before quality inspections.
9. Coach employees on work quality and processes, ensuring goals are met and issues are addressed.

What You’ll Need

1. At least 2 years of experience as a welder, fitter, or fitter/welder in heavy industrial manufacturing.
2. Experience with flux and/or metal core welding is highly preferred.
3. Knowledge of blueprints and layouts, preferably related to transmission poles.
4. Completion of Meyer Utility Structures’ Visual Inspection Certification (VT) course is preferred but not required.
5. Dependability, maturity, and strong leadership skills demonstrated through previous work.
6. Reliable attendance, positive attitude, and teamwork skills.
7. Ability to work 4:00pm - 2:30am, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
