Job summary

Department of Natural Resources in Twisp seeks a Fish Technician III to perform technical and skilled tasks for the Mid-Columbia Coho Restoration project. Responsibilities include broodstock work, spawning, egg incubation, juvenile rearing, data collection, and field equipment maintenance.

Role requires the ability to work independently and on nights, weekends, and holidays; proficiency with Excel/Access for data entry; and collaboration with Yakama Nation and other agencies.

Qualifications

• Two years prior work experience at a Fish Technician II level.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving Permit.
• Must live in or relocate within proximity, preferably within ½-hour driving distance of the Mid-Columbia Field Station in Twisp, WA.
• Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform field sampling and data collection for Coho Restoration projects.
• Operate and maintain field equipment and vehicles.
• Input and analyze data using Excel and Access; generate charts, tables and reports.
• Lead technician duties in the absence of the Project Biologist.
• Collaborate with Yakama Nation and other agencies on cooperative studies.
