Job summary

Kings County Public Works Department is seeking a Fiscal Analyst III to lead complex financial operations and support high-level decision-making across the department. The role oversees major budgets, funding sources, and financial trends while guiding fiscal policy development and staff leadership.

Qualified candidates will have a four-year degree in accounting/finance or related field, plus relevant experience.

Qualifications

Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration or closely related field.
Two years of experience as a Fiscal Analyst II or three years in responsible fiscal management/governmental accounting with one year supervisory experience.
Possession of a valid California driver’s license at time of appointment.
Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software; experience with financial data systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and directs all fiscal, statistical and collection activities of the department.
Oversees preparation of budgets for department, divisions and grants.
Maintains regular financial reports and tracks data.
Leads development and updating of fiscal policies and operations manuals.
Coordinates with Finance to meet federal/state requirements.
