Job summary

Western States Fire Protection in Colorado seeks an Inspection Technician Lead to perform inspections, testing, installation, service and preventive maintenance of life safety and fire suppression equipment.

You will coach apprentices, travel statewide as needed, work nights or weekends, and coordinate with Project Managers to keep projects on track and billed accurately, while complying with safety policies and NFPA codes.

Qualifications

• NICET Level II or III
• Local jurisdiction licensing
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Proficient with iPads and company programs
• Able to pass drug screen, background & reference checks
• Capable of presenting information to managers, customers, AHJs

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, install, service and maintain life safety and fire suppression equipment
• Handle low voltage wiring and devices for operation of low voltage equipment
• Operate with minimal supervision on fire protection inspections and 24-hour service
• Inspect and service commercial fire sprinkler systems and related equipment
• Daily communication with Project Manager or Schedule Coordinator on delays and status
• Close out and turnover of jobs to client for billing
• Train apprentices on procedures, inspections and report accuracy
• Comply with safety standards and company policies
• Travel within Colorado as needed
• Work nights and weekends as needed

Education

NICET Level II or III

Local jurisdiction licensing

NFPA knowledge

High School diploma or equivalent

Valid driver's license

Drug screen, background & reference checks

Proficient with iPads & company programs

Communication with managers/ AHJs
