Job summary

ZING in Rockville, MD is seeking a Lead Fire Alarm Technician to service commercial systems across the region. The role offers $35.00 to $50.00/hour with direct hire, and premium pay opportunities for evenings, on-call, and holidays.

Responsibilities include inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs, with on-site documentation and NFPA/compliance adherence. Requires 2+ years of experience, valid license, and ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years hands-on fire alarm experience.
• Experience servicing commercial fire alarm systems.
• Valid driver's license with 3 or fewer points; at least 3 years of driving.

Are you an experienced Fire Alarm Technician looking for a long-term opportunity with excellent pay, outstanding benefits, and opportunities to earn additional premium pay? We're looking for a skilled technician to join a growing team servicing commercial fire alarm systems throughout the region.

What You'll Do

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair commercial fire alarm systems
• Respond to service calls and diagnose system issues
• Perform inspections in accordance with NFPA and local code requirements
• Complete accurate inspection reports and service documentation
• Repair or replace equipment to restore systems to compliance
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on fire alarm experience
• Experience servicing commercial fire alarm systems
• Valid driver's license with 3 or fewer points
• Minimum 3 years of licensed driving experience
• Ability to test and service Simplex, Notifier, and Fire-Lite systems
• Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, attics, and crawl spaces
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
• Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET Certification
• Experience with special hazard suppression systems including FM-200 and Halon
• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic experience

Compensation & Perks

• $35.00 to $50.00/hour based on experience
