Job summary

Acme Industries in Elk Grove Village, IL seeks a Finisher / Handwork Lead to manage daily finishing operations, coach trainees, and ensure quality across aerospace, defense, and industrial components. You will deburr, finish to print, read GD&T, and coordinate flow with the Production Manager.

The role requires strong leadership, blueprint reading, and hands-on precision finishing, with involvement in safety and process improvement within an ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in finishing/deburring on precision machined parts
• Strong blueprint reading with GD&T and prints
• Experience mentoring or leading teammates
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily workflow for Finishing team including prioritization
• Perform deburring and handwork on precision parts
• Inspect parts against drawings and notes; flag non-conformances
• Coach and train trainees and Finisher I/II
• Lead on-floor safety, tool handling, and housekeeping
• Support on-the-floor coaching with Workforce Development program
