Job summary

Transcendia leads extrusion coating operations in Richmond, IN, seeking a Lead Operator on C Shift. Responsible for safe setup, operation, troubleshooting, and optimization of film extrusion lines to meet customer specs.

You will mentor Level I operators and support continuous improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years in film extrusion, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to coordinate with maintenance for repairs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
3–5+ years of film extrusion operating experience preferred.
Advanced understanding of extrusion processes, polymers, resins, additives, and material handling.
Ability to independently troubleshoot processing and equipment issues.
Strong reading of work orders, specifications, gauges, and measuring devices.
Basic computer skills for production reporting.
Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Set up, start up, operate, and shut down film extrusion lines safely and efficiently.
Monitor and adjust processing parameters to maintain product quality.
Perform product changeovers, material changes, and die cleanings with minimal downtime.
Troubleshoot equipment, material, and process issues to reduce scrap and improve efficiency.
Inspect film for quality characteristics and ensure customer specifications.
Complete production reports, quality documentation, and downtime records.
Coordinate with maintenance on repairs and major troubleshooting.
Train Level I operators on machine operation, safety, and quality standards.
Assist supervisors in developing SOPs and work instructions.
