Job summary

Energy Transfer LP seeks a technician for the repair and maintenance of gas compression equipment in the Carlsbad, New Mexico region. This rotational position involves hands-on work with compressor stations, plant facilities, and related pipeline equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2–4 years of industry experience, and a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record. Training, safety leadership, and regulatory compliance are essential to success in this position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 2-4 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record; USDOT certification may be required.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and operate compressor station equipment and facilities.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate work with staff and contractors to ensure safety and timely completion.
• Provide budgetary information, schedule outages, order materials, and maintain inventory.
• Interpret drawings, schematics, OEM manuals, and other resources for assigned tasks.
• Use hand tools and equipment in hazardous and non-hazardous environments safely.
• Maintain equipment records, logs, and regulatory documentation.
• Provide training and leadership to develop effective work crews.
• Maintain knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA requirements and related tasks.
• Be on-call on a rotating basis; occasional travel may be required.
• Perform LOTO procedures and ensure safety compliance.
• Keep truck tool inventory and keep work areas clean and orderly.
