Job summary

TransCore in Houston, TX is seeking a Lead Technician to perform on-site and in-house servicing, repair and installation of customer equipment. The role supports field operations including installation, troubleshooting, and programming of system components.

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership, extensive experience in hardware, software, and network diagnostics, and the ability to manage preventive maintenance and documentation while coordinating with the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
• Must maintain driver's license in good standing.
• Must be comfortable working at heights that could be in excess of 50 ft.
• Proven expertise in leadership or supervisory role.
• Advanced troubleshooting and repair skills for hardware, software, and network systems.
• Expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP), system integrations, and diagnostics.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site or in-house servicing, repair and installation of customer equipment.
• Provide field support including installation, troubleshooting and repair of electronic equipment and wiring.
• Install/configure component systems/firmware, including upgrades, modifications and programming.
• Carry out preventive maintenance actions and document work.
• Lead and train technicians and assist manager with field problem solving.
• Prepare reports and logs; maintain effective shift communications.
• Respond to maintenance requests or alarms and restore equipment quickly.
