Job summary

Herc Rentals seeks a Field Service Mechanic A to lead technical repairs and maintenance on Herc fleet at customer job sites. You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and educate customers on proper usage while building strong relationships.

You will operate safely, manage multiple tasks, and produce detailed service reports. A valid driver’s license and willingness to be on call are required for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to operate and test heavy equipment and related tools.
• Ability to read technical schematics and manuals.
• Own a selection of hand and power tools for repairs.
• Must be on-call to support operations.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on Herc fleet at customer sites.
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire and battery services.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment on site.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Return equipment to safe working condition and document repairs.
• Educate customers on proper equipment use and safety.
• Produce service reports and repair logs.
• Build positive customer relationships.
• Follow field procedures and perform additional duties as assigned.
