As Field Service Manager, you will utilize your background in lab certifications and testing to influence and scale business operations in an organization that’s already backed by an established lab equipment company.

This role will blend your experience with biosafety cabinets, laboratory fume hoods, cleanrooms, and related lab safety systems with the organization’s existing customer relationships, active projects, and significant opportunity for growth. Accompanied by unparalleled customer service and business partnership, you will utilize digital testing instrumentation, automated data capturing, and photographic documentation to take laboratory certifications to a new level. Each certification provides measurable, documented evidence that equipment has been tested correctly and can perform to applicable safety standards.

If you are energized by the opportunity to take real ownership of your work, experienced in and passionate about the safety of science and lab equipment, and want to lead and influence business operations, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform field testing and certification of biosafety cabinets (BSCs), laboratory fume hoods, cleanroom systems, and related containment equipment.
  • Perform certification work in accordance with applicable NSF/ANSI 49, ASHRAE 110, CETA, and other relevant industry standards and testing protocols.
  • Work directly with company leadership to establish a field certification program focused on accuracy, documentation, transparency, and customer safety.
  • Implement and refine testing procedures involving digital instrumentation, automated measurement capture, photographic documentation, and detailed certification reporting.
  • Ensure that certification reports accurately reflect testing performed, equipment performance, deficiencies identified, and applicable requirements.
  • Troubleshoot airflow, containment, filtration, and equipment performance issues and communicate findings and recommended corrective actions to customers.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and properly utilize testing instruments, measurement equipment, and field service tools.
  • Take ownership of assigned customer projects, including scheduling, field execution, reporting, follow-up, and service coordination.
  • Build trusted relationships with laboratory managers, researchers, facilities personnel, environmental health and safety professionals, and other technical stakeholders.
  • Work across laboratory, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, university, and research environments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve field efficiency, testing procedures, service quality, and the overall customer experience without compromising technical standards.
  • Collaborate directly with leadership on service offerings, operating procedures, field documentation, customer needs, and future business opportunities.
  • Help establish quality expectations, training processes, and operating standards for future certification technicians.
  • Participate in interviewing, onboarding, mentoring, and developing additional technical team members as the organization grows.
  • Progress toward broader responsibility for field operations, technician development, scheduling, quality assurance, and service delivery.
  • Travel regularly to customer facilities and project locations, with flexibility to support a growing national customer base.
Qualifications & Requirements

  • Current NSF Biosafety Cabinet Field Certifier Accreditation is strongly preferred, particularly the Enhanced Accreditation Program.
  • Relevant CETA/CNBT credentials, including SCF accreditation for sterile compounding facilities, are highly valued.
  • Demonstrated understanding of certification testing procedures, airflow measurement, containment verification, filtration systems, and laboratory safety requirements.
  • Familiarity with applicable standards such as NSF/ANSI 49, ASHRAE 110, and relevant cleanroom or controlled-environment testing guidelines.
  • Ability to independently perform technical field work, troubleshoot equipment issues, interpret test results, and produce accurate documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage customer appointments, travel schedules, testing equipment, and multiple active projects.
  • Comfortable communicating technical findings and recommendations directly to customers and facility representatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when documenting testing results and explaining equipment performance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel, to support customer projects and field operations.
  • Comfortable operating in a small, entrepreneurial environment where procedures, systems, and responsibilities will continue to evolve.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet the physical and safety requirements associated with field service work.
