The Lead Field Service Engineer - Drives, under general guidance and minimal supervision, performs a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure proper installation, service, and commissioning of products and services. Provides technical support for installation and commissioning projects, along with maintenance, emergency breakdown support, and remote troubleshooting.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting activities at site locations to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolutions, and implement corrective actions for Variable Speed Drives.
- Develop documentation such as commissioning procedures, maintenance procedures, daily logs, etc.
- Perform installation and commissioning activities at customer sites.
- Work independently and lead small teams.
- Manage on-site projects and serve as a technical leader to resolve customer issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Perform engineering tasks under the guidance of a senior engineer to ensure the technical integrity, installation, and commissioning of GE drive systems.
- Create presentations and provide training to customers on drive operations.
- Coordinate opportunities to serve customers with the customer service team, parts, other FSEs, repair services, sales, and engineering teams.
- Advise customers on upgrades, parts, and services to improve productivity and promote GE parts and services.
- Coordinate maintenance activities and plan inspections.
- Support engineering teams on customer projects and bidding processes.
- Identify new opportunities and develop offerings to enhance equipment reliability and availability.
- Promote sales of maintenance services.
- Perform other engineering tasks related to commissioning and customer satisfaction.
- Provide on-call support for customer service calls.
- Ensure timely responses and quality service.
- Complete service reports and administrative tasks promptly.
- Support business growth and marketing initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution, or an Associate degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of field service and/or commissioning experience.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience with Variable Speed Drives for commissioning and troubleshooting.
- At least 3 years of experience with GE Drive systems, including practical knowledge of at least one GE Power Conversion drive system (e.g., MV7000, SD7000, MV3000).
- Experience in commissioning variable speed drives from Siemens, ABB, Toshiba, Danfoss, Rockwell, etc.
- At least 2 years of practical knowledge of GE Power Conversion drive/system controllers (e.g., PEC, PECe, CDC).
- Ability to handle complex engineering assignments independently, demonstrating creativity and judgment.
- Detailed knowledge and expertise in installation and commissioning tasks.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office and technical aptitude.
- Background in customer-facing roles within a service environment.
