Job summary

Core Group Resources seeks a Lead Field Service Engineer – Marine Drives to oversee installation, commissioning and lifecycle service of medium‑voltage drive systems on ships and offshore platforms. You will lead on-site teams, perform diagnostics, generate service documentation and coordinate with sales, engineering and parts teams.

The role requires 5+ years of field service or commissioning experience, HUET and offshore survival certs, and willingness to travel up to 85%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• OR Associate degree with 5+ years relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of field service or commissioning experience with electrical or drive systems.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 85% and work offshore/shipyard environments.
• Based in or able to travel to the greater Philadelphia, PA area.
• HUET and offshore survival certification.

Responsibilities

• Execute and oversee installation and commissioning of drive systems at customer facilities.
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics to resolve equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
• Generate technical documentation such as logs, service reports, and procedures.
• Act as project lead on job sites and guide small on-site teams.
• Deliver training and system operation briefings to clients and end users.
• Collaborate with sales, service, engineering and parts teams to implement solutions.
• Recommend upgrades, spare parts or services to enhance performance.
• Coordinate inspection planning and maintenance scheduling with customers.
• Support retrofit and modernization projects during bidding processes.
• Provide on-call emergency support and remote troubleshooting.
• Adhere to safety protocols onboard vessels, offshore, or in shipyards.
• Be available for extended travel, including weekends or overtime in peak periods.
