Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC in Wisconsin seeks an experienced Lead Robotics & Controls Commissioning Engineer to lead internal factory commissioning and field deployments for custom automated systems. Expect hands-on PLC troubleshooting, multi-axis robotics calibration, and close collaboration with mechanical and project teams.

Base rate $49.00–$59.00/hour with overtime potential and a premium benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years field proven experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and integrating custom industrial automated machinery and multi-axis robotics.
• PLC diagnostic capabilities with Rockwell/Studio 5000 and Siemens TIA Portal.
• Ability to read and trace complex electrical layouts and mechanical drawings.
• Willingness and ability to travel 50%–80% to North America and some international sites.
• Must reside within daily commuting distance of Greater Milwaukee area and hold a valid driver's license with US citizen or Green Card ownership.

Responsibilities

• Lead Equipment Readiness: direct internal commissioning, live-wire debugging, and I/O validation before shop release.
• Robotic and Cell Calibration: validate multi-axis platforms, calibrations, network setups, EOAT checks.
• Hands-on Diagnostics: troubleshoot PLC logic, servo drives, vision systems, pneumatics, safety interlocks.
• Customer Field Deployments: lead onsite installations and customer run-offs; train client staff.
• Cross-functional Interface: coordinate with design engineers, PMs, and shop teams to isolate issues.
• Project Administrative Discipline: log testing hours, manage open issues, submit progress logs.
