Job summary

Pasco County in Florida seeks a Special Equipment Operator - Field (Utilities) to perform skilled operation of heavy and complex construction/maintenance equipment. The role includes operating track and wheel excavators, graders, and other machinery across utilities and solid waste projects.

The position requires a valid Florida CDL Class A with N Tanker endorsement, a high school diploma, and four years in utilities/public works with at least two years of heavy equipment operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four years' experience in utilities/solid waste or public works maintenance with two years operating heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of safety rules and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as track and wheel excavators, finish graders, landfill compactor, dozer, backhoe, trackhoe and other machinery.
• Lead other equipment operators and laborers on projects.
• Maintain and service equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Prepare reports (e.g., sanitary sewer overflow reports and work orders) and assist in evaluations as needed.
