Job summary

Helsing is seeking a Lead Field Engineer to own operations, design test campaigns, coordinate teams, and manage external partners. You will understand the commercial context surrounding technical work and shape what gets done to feed the product roadmap.

You will test combined software and hardware in lab and field, install AI on edge devices, and travel across the US and beyond to collaborate with Helsing UK and EU teams.

Qualifications

• Strong technical aptitude for complex hardware/software systems
• Experience assembling, deploying, and troubleshooting autonomous or electromechanical systems
• Comfort with software deployment and debugging tools including command-line interfaces

Responsibilities

• Test software and hardware products end-to-end in lab and field
• Prepare, transport, mobilize, and demobilize equipment at test locations
• Install AI software onto edge devices using in-house tools
• Design and improve test plans and safety SOPs
• Define resources to maintain field-testing operations
• Embed with end users and ensure safety at field test events
• Travel to testing locations across the US and internationally
• Build and manage a team of field engineers
