Scope Of Position

As a Lead Field Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the field commissioning of building automation systems tailored for each customer. We seek a self-motivated, detail-oriented, customer-focused team member who acts as a role model for other field engineers. You will solve complex problems, lead training for less experienced engineers, and serve as a product and technical expert in the field.

Essential Job Functions
  • Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems utilizing advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
  • Serve as the local contact for technical issues.
  • Offer effective solutions for complex system issues.
  • Deliver turnkey projects on medium to large scales.
  • Ensure proper operation of systems, including controls, sensors, and software.
  • Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
  • Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate and document project status and details for the customer.
  • Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment over 8 feet and lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable by the company’s insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or technical certificate in HVAC, Controls, or related fields.
  • Proficiency with building automation software such as WebCTRL and control installation.
  • Ability to navigate and integrate various building automation systems.
  • Expertise in TCP/IP networks, including wireless technology.
  • Experience managing multiple challenges across disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate technical info to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
