Job summary

RRC Companies is seeking a Crew Chief to join our Austin/Round Rock team, directing survey crews on energy projects across the U.S. You will interpret project scopes, manage field operations, and ensure accurate field data collection while upholding our core values and safety standards.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of Crew Chief experience in oil and gas, proficiency with Trimble S6/S5 and R8/R10 systems, and the ability to lead crews independently on geographically diverse sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years as Party/Crew Chief in Oil & Gas, including operating TSC3 and TSC7.
• Experience in data collection and field computations.
• Background in construction staking for surveying projects.
• Experience with Trimble S6/S5 robotics; Trimble R8/R10 units; level loops; establishing benchmarks.
• Ability to run OPUS Solution and perform Civil 3D calculations.
• Ability to lead survey crews independently on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Act as a primary contact between field crews and office project personnel.
• Interpret and execute work based on project scopes, maps, and documentation.
• Navigate to project sites, including long-distance driving in a safe manner.
• Work in inclement weather when required; manage equipment.
• Ensure accuracy of the job before leaving the field and uphold company values.
