Job summary

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT in Nebraska is seeking a Feedyard Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations of a large-scale feedyard. You will lead a maintenance crew of about 10–12, supervise shop repairs, manage water-system upkeep, and ensure safety and efficiency across the facility.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, welding and plumbing knowledge, and prior maintenance management experience in livestock or similar settings.

Qualifications

• Experience managing maintenance teams in a feedyard or livestock operation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with welding and plumbing knowledge.
• Experience with water systems and facility infrastructure.
• Willingness to work extended hours including weekend rotation.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all feedyard maintenance operations including pen upkeep, road maintenance, fence repair, and general facility maintenance.
• Manage a maintenance crew of approximately 10-12 employees, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Oversee shop operations to ensure timely and effective repair of equipment and infrastructure.
• Coordinate maintenance of water systems including tanks, pipelines, and plumbing components.
• Ensure proper upkeep of feedyard infrastructure and respond promptly to maintenance issues.
• Assist with preventative maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for larger repair or expansion projects as needed.
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with company safety standards.
• Work closely with Feedyard Manager to prioritize maintenance needs and improve operational efficiency.
