Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Lead Building Maintenance Technician (Painting and Light Carpentry) to oversee 2nd and 3rd shift carpentry and painting teams at commercial facilities. You will mentor staff, ensure quality workmanship, and manage after-hours maintenance needs.

The role requires 5+ years in painting and carpentry with leadership experience, a valid driver’s license, and ability to lift 50 lbs. Shift is Wed-Sun with differential; onsite work only.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial or institutional painting and carpentry, with leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead and train a maintenance team in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for travel between properties.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work overhead using ladders/scaffolding.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and experience with computer systems for work order management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the 2nd/3rd shift carpentry and painting team, assign tasks, monitor quality, and ensure safe, efficient completion during non-business hours.
• Perform advanced painting and carpentry including surface prep, color matching, drywall repair, and finish work.
• Oversee light carpentry projects such as door installations, hardware, furniture assembly, and fixtures throughout facilities.
• Coordinate evening/overnight maintenance activities with property management to minimize tenant disruption.
• Document work, track materials, manage work orders, and report shift activities to management.
