Job summary

Smartsearchonline seeks a Professional (PE) Mechanical Engineer for our greater Los Angeles area operations, Canoga Park, CA. This contract role focuses on design for manufacturing and process systems, HVAC, plumbing, and gas systems, with a 12+ month duration.

You will lead facilities projects, coordinate with A&E and construction teams, review drawings, and ensure code compliance while maintaining records and supporting maintenance staff on technical issues.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable of Mechanical and Plumbing Building codes
• Knowledgeable of industry standards (ASME/ANSI, ASTM, NFPA, ASHRAE, SMACNA)
• California State Licensed Professional Engineer - Mechanical Engineering
• High level of Safety and Customer focus
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project
• Strong skills in leadership, teamwork, Risk and Opportunity Management, and effective communication

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Facilities Projects: mechanical designs, calculations, specs, cost estimates
• Interface with A&E firms and Construction Contractors
• Review and approve construction documents and submittals
• Maintain as-built drawings and records
• Interpret and apply codes
• Support Maintenance staff with technical issues
• Manage projects: scope, schedule, cost, and invoices
