Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Maintenance Engineer Lead to oversee daily operations of the facility maintenance team, coordinate repairs, preventive maintenance, and vendor activities to keep building systems running efficiently and in compliance with applicable codes.

You will provide technical guidance, schedule work, mentor staff, and participate in hands-on maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, while ensuring safety and auditable documentation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in facilities or plant operations.
• Experience providing daily direction or training to a maintenance team preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the maintenance team; assign daily tasks and provide technical guidance.
• Schedule and coordinate internal and external maintenance work, including vendor support and emergency repairs.
• Perform skilled maintenance work in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and utility systems.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a preventive maintenance program ensuring safety/compliance.
• Participate in on-call rotation and cover staffing gaps as needed.
• Read and interpret manuals/diagrams/blueprints to troubleshoot and repair systems.
