Job summary

Flooring Services, LTD in Texas seeks a Fabricator Lead to oversee daily stone countertop fabrication, ensuring quality and efficiency.

You will train crew, read shop drawings, manage workflow from slab intake to installation readiness, and maintain a safe, organized shop.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of stone countertop fabrication experience.

Job Description

We are seeking a Fabricator Lead to oversee daily fabrication operations for quartz, granite, quartzite, and other natural stone countertop projects. This role is responsible for ensuring fabrication quality, maintaining production efficiency, training team members, and helping coordinate workflow from slab intake through installation readiness.

Duties:

• Move stone using A-frames, carts, clamps, and proper lifting techniques
• Keep jobs organized so all pieces stay together and are clearly labeled
• Troubleshoot fabrication or installation issues and support corrective actions
• Perform sink cutouts, cooktop cutouts, and faucet/fixture holes by hand
• Use templates, measurements, and job drawings to confirm accurate cutout placement
• Assist with seam preparation, glue-ups, and lamination as needed
• Identify risks in fabrication (weak areas, seam placement concerns, cutout clearance) and communicate issues early
• Grind and polish stone surfaces and edges to STL Countertops quality standards
• Perform edge finishing and detail work using hand tools and polishing systems
• Blend seams, touch up edges, and correct minor surface imperfections
• Ensure finished pieces are clean, consistent, and ready for installation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Support shop efficiency by staging materials and keeping the production flow moving

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of stone countertop fabrication experience preferred
• Leadership or lead fabricator experience preferred
• Strong understanding of quartz, granite, quartzite, and natural stone fabrication
• Ability to read shop drawings and measurements accurately
• High attention to detail and quality control
• Experience training junior installers or helpers.
• Strong customer service and problem‑solving skills.
