Job summary

Messer Americas is seeking a Fabrication Project Manager to plan, execute, and close projects for new builds and refurbishments of used equipment in the Messer food equipment line. You’ll drive on-time, on-scope, on-budget delivery while coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across North America.

The role emphasizes risk management, problem-solving, and adherence to Messer procedures, deadlines, and project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 3+ years of engineering/design experience in application equipment, industrial gases, and a manufacturing/plant environment or completion of Messer's GDP with project experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage project budgets and schedules up to $1,000,000.
• Ensure BOMs and manuals are accurate for assignment equipment.
• Lead application equipment projects in North American markets for Messer.
• Oversee procurement and fabrication with fabricators and vendors.
• Incorporate safety considerations in design, execution, fabrication, startup and commissioning.
• Complete projects on schedule and within budget.
• Resolve equipment problems at customer sites and provide on-site consultations.
• Qualify vendors/consultants to enhance the equipment portfolio.
• Validate equipment functionality with testing and new protocols.
• Oversee procurement to control costs and ensure on-time delivery.
• Participate in design reviews and HAZOPs for equipment.
• Complete close-out checklists and document calculations and manuals.
