J. Blanton Plumbing is seeking an experienced Excavation Field Manager to oversee our Sewer & Drain excavation operations in Illinois.

You will manage approximately 5 excavation crews, coordinate daily assignments, monitor progress, and ensure projects meet safety and quality standards. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in excavation or underground utility work, strong leadership, and OSHA certifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of excavation, sewer, underground utility, or related field experience.
• Experience leading crews or managing excavation projects.
• Strong understanding of excavation, trenching, underground sewer work, and jobsite safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee approximately 5 excavation crews.
• Coordinate daily crew assignments, job schedules, and project priorities.
• Visit active jobsites to monitor progress, quality, safety, and productivity.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule and according to standards.
• Coordinate equipment, trucks, materials, and resources across crews.
• Monitor equipment condition and address maintenance needs.
• Troubleshoot issues to keep projects moving.
• Train, coach, and hold crew members accountable for performance and safety.
• Collaborate with project managers and operations leadership.
