Job summary

Shook Construction Co. is seeking a senior estimator to lead preconstruction estimating efforts in Ohio. You will assemble bid teams, develop budgets, and assess risks to maximize project profitability.

Responsibilities include bid solicitation, cost analysis, and coordination with vendors and trade partners to ensure a complete scope. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of estimating experience are required, with strong reading of drawings and specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
• 5+ years of estimating experience in the construction industry.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead, assemble, and manage estimates, budget controls, and risk assessments during preconstruction.
• Coordinate bid solicitation and pre-bid requirements with the bid team and VP/Director.
• Read and interpret drawings and project specifications to ensure complete scope.
• Prepare comprehensive quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns with labor, material, and equipment costs.
• Develop bid package scopes with PM input and assist subcontractor selections.
