Job Description

The Global Strategic Opportunities Lead Estimator supports major projects in the Life Sciences and Food and Beverage sectors at CRB. Part of the Project Operations & Risk group, reporting to the Director of Estimating and working under the Vice President of Global Project Delivery, this role involves developing accurate cost estimates during the conceptual and schematic design phases, utilizing scope and cost modeling techniques.

This position also plays a key role in the pre-construction phase, converting opportunities into projects. It requires effective communication with clients to ensure transparency and foster trust, collaborating with project teams to align estimates with project goals and budgets. The role includes managing discipline estimators to produce detailed estimates for labor, materials, and other components, supporting the transition to project execution.

When not engaged in GSO projects, the role supports other operational teams, often leading and developing cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive conceptual and schematic cost estimates across all divisions and systems.
• Use historical data, quantity take-offs, unit pricing, and system/line count methodologies.
• Present estimates and models to project teams and clients.
• Ensure estimates meet project goals and budgets through collaboration.
• Lead risk analyses from both CRB and client perspectives.
• Maintain and update historical cost data and benchmarks.
• Manage and coordinate with discipline estimators for detailed estimates.
• Oversee estimating workload for GPD and support needs with the Director of Estimating.
• Handle quantification, pricing, reporting, and presentation of estimates.
• Serve as Discipline or Lead Estimator as workload demands.
• Maintain relationships with trade partners.
• Mentor and train staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience.
• Fifteen years of experience in multi-discipline estimating or design-build lead estimating in Life Science, Food and Beverage, Industrial, or Commercial projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in producing comprehensive estimates across disciplines.
• Experience with construction logistics, scheduling, and constructability reviews.

• Capable of managing multiple activities and personnel across multiple offices under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of standard construction details, drawings, methods, and estimation practices.
• Proficient in industry-standard estimating and design software.

• Ability to produce schedules in MS Project or P6.
• Understanding of project cash flow projection methods.
• Willingness to travel 20-25%.
