Job summary

BBCH Support Services (BBCH SS), LLC in the DC area seeks an Estimator to lead pricing and bid development for complex, self-performed structural repair and restoration projects. You will prepare detailed cost estimates for concrete repair, waterproofing, strengthening, and related scopes, analyze drawings, and develop complete bid packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• 10+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably in concrete repair or self-performing projects.
• Experience estimating projects up to $10 Million with a team.
• Ability to prepare estimates from quantity takeoffs, material and labor costs.
• Experience reviewing historical data to develop guidelines and precedents.
• Background identifying sales opportunities with clients is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications and contract docs to develop quantity takeoffs and estimates.
• Prepare bid packages for self-performed work including labor, equipment, materials, and subs.
• Develop work plans and pricing for concrete repair, cathodic protection, epoxy, FRP, post-tension, coatings, waterproofing.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for coverage and competitiveness.
• Conduct site visits and pre-bid meetings to assess conditions and risks.
• Collaborate with operations, PM, and field leadership to validate rates, means/methods and schedules.
• Perform risk analysis and value engineering to protect margin and competitiveness.
• Maintain cost data and refine estimating tools and unit pricing databases.
• Assist in post-bid reviews and handoff meetings to operations.
