Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Lead Estimator to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in heavy industrial construction projects and can lead a team of estimators through all phases of cost estimation.

The role emphasizes conformance to project lifecycle processes, standard estimating practices, and the development of accurate, compelling client proposals within EPCM environments.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in an estimating role on medium/large EPCM projects.
• Experience leading a team of estimators.
• Heavy industrial estimating experience.
• Strong MS Office and estimating systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Understand estimating scope of work, deliverables, and estimate structure.
• Develop the estimate plan and kickoff meeting.
• Coordinate MTO deliverables with engineering.
• Deliver accurate estimates per procedures, standards, and practices.
• Compute direct and indirect field costs and contingency as needed.
• Establish project escalation and contingency requirements.
• Calculate cash expenditure and escalation over project duration.
• Attend estimate review meetings and present Basis of Estimate.
• Monitor and upgrade the estimating database.
• Input to Gate Release Meetings.

Hatch is seeking an Lead Estimator to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate is expected to have prior experience working on heavy industrial construction projects. Conformance to the Project Lifecycle Process, Global and Regional Estimating Guidelines and sound first principle estimating techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understanding estimating scope of work, deliverables, schedule of execution, estimate structure, formats, reports etc.;
• Develop the estimate plan and initiate estimate kick-off meeting;
• Coordinate MTO deliverables with engineering;
• Delivery of an accurate and comprehensive estimate in accordance with estimating procedures, standards, and practices and estimate classifications;
• Bottom-up calculation of direct and indirect field costs, factorization or other methods as appropriate to the estimate classification;
• Establishment of project escalation and contingency requirements;
• Calculation of cash expenditure, predicted escalation over project duration;
• Attendance of estimate review meetings;
• Issue of the Basis of Estimate and prepare client estimate presentations;
• Monitoring and upgrading of the estimating database;
• Preparation and input to Gate Release Meetings.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 10 years of experience in an estimating role, ideally on medium / large multi-discipline projects in an EPCM environment throughout various classes of estimate;
• Demonstrated experience in leading estimates including supervision of a team of estimators;
• Preferred experience in electrical estimating discipline;
• Heavy industrial experience required;
• Strong MS Office skills and experience with tools and estimating systems;
• Site experience would be an asset;
• Knowledge of EPC/LSTK estimating techniques;
• Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions
