The Lanco Group is seeking a Lead Technician to assemble and maintain intermodal heavy equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency. The role requires extensive experience with mechanical and electrical systems, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to travel frequently to customer sites for installations and repairs. Assemble and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on intermodal heavy equipment in an outdoor environment.
Essential Functions:
Experience/Training/Education:
Required: High school diploma or GED and 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably with gantry cranes. Experience with crane signaling is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to meet deadlines; understand and follow written and verbal instructions; communicate effectively; work cooperatively with supervisors, management, vendors, and employees. Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical assemblies and testing experience is required.
Physical and Environmental Elements:
This role involves working indoors and outdoors in all seasons, with exposure to noise, chemicals, heavy equipment, and machinery. Requires good hand/eye coordination, finger dexterity, hand strength, and the ability to grasp, lift, push, and pull. Tasks involve climbing, twisting, bending, squatting, and kneeling for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and pull approximately 20 lbs. Must be able to ascend/descend ladders or scaffolding. Travel up to 70% to customer sites, including overnight stays.
Special Requirements/Certification:
Obtain an E-Rail security clearance badge.
