Ethos Veterinary Health (Charleston Veterinary Referral Center) seeks a Veterinary Technician Supervisor to lead our Emergency & Critical Care team in Charleston, SC. This full-time role combines advanced clinical care with mentoring, staffing, and operational leadership to ensure exceptional patient care.

You will coach technicians, shape workflows, and partner with hospital leadership to uphold standards while supporting staff development and growth into specialty credentials.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of Veterinary Technician experience in emergency or specialty veterinary medicine required.
• Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred; VTS certification prioritized.
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge and ability to support technicians in a fast-paced Emergency & Critical Care environment.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technicians and veterinary support staff.
• Mentor team members through clinical coaching, skills development, and ongoing education.
• Oversee daily department operations to support efficient workflows and high-quality patient care.
• Partner with hospital leadership to maintain clinical standards and support department goals.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management of Veterinary Technicians and support staff.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, open communication, and a supportive workplace culture.
• Work alongside the team three of four shifts per week, actively utilizing technical skills and providing hands-on patient care.
• Collaborate with specialists, emergency clinicians, and hospital leaders to improve patient care and client service.
• Identify opportunities to improve department processes, clinical workflows, and team performance.
• Encourage continuing education and professional growth, including advancement toward specialty credentials.
