Job summary

CCL is seeking an Equipment Project Engineer Lead in Richmond, VA to oversee major capital projects and equipment packages from engineering through startup. This onsite role requires hands-on leadership, strong vendor management, and cross‑functional coordination across engineering, construction, and operations teams during all project stages.

The position emphasizes FAT coordination, installation sequencing, and ensuring equipment readiness aligned with project milestones.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
5+ years of engineering, equipment, or capital project experience.
Experience with process equipment, mechanical systems, or facility projects.

Responsibilities

Lead equipment package management from design through operational readiness.
Manage equipment scope, schedules, costs, risks, and milestones.
Oversee procurement activities and delivery schedules for equipment.
Coordinate equipment design reviews, vendor meetings, and documentation.
Work with engineering and construction teams on constructability and installation sequencing.
Monitor fabrication progress and vendor performance.
Coordinate FAT planning, execution, and issue resolution.
Serve as on-site equipment representative during installation and commissioning.
Coordinate with engineering, construction, EHS, CQV, operations, and suppliers.
Support startup, troubleshooting, commissioning, and handover.
