Job summary

Pima County Department of Transportation is seeking an Equipment Operator II to lead and operate heavy equipment for road maintenance projects. You will finish grades, lay base courses, blade-mix and lay asphalt concrete, and supervise laborers in field operations.

Requires four years of heavy equipment experience or one year as Equipment Operator I with Pima County, plus a valid driver's license. CDL preferred; opportunity to contribute to infrastructure improvements.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience operating heavy equipment/vehicles, or one year as Equipment Operator I with Pima County.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
• Experience leading and training laborers in equipment operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate graders, blades, and other heavy equipment to finish grades and base courses.
• Finish road grades and drainage ways; finish percentages using appropriate equipment.
• Load, secure, and transport equipment on trailers; perform minor maintenance.
• May perform duties of Equipment Operator I as needed; participate in manual labor tasks.
