Job summary

The State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities is seeking an Equipment Operator at the Cold Bay Maintenance Station. Responsibilities include maintaining roads and airport facilities in rural Alaska, with duties varying by Journey level and CDL requirements.

Compensation is hourly and OT eligible, with Journey 1 starting at $32.32/hour, Journey 2 at $34.18/hour, and Lead/Journey 3 at $36.32/hour. Candidates may travel to other stations during summer months.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of traffic and safety rules and regulations

Responsibilities

• Performs airport and highway maintenance at a State maintenance station; ensures safe/operable highways, airports, seaplane floats, bridges and docks for the traveling public.
• Adheres to FHWA, FAA, TSA, and State of Alaska rules and regulations; operates light and training on heavy equipment as needed.
